Our community needs
an Independent Voice in Frome
At this State election, our community has the opportunity to choose to elect an Independent Member of Parliament who is not beholden to the major political parties which have neglected our region and taken us for granted.
We need local people who are not part-time regional residents, or, worse, living full-time in Adelaide, and who are truly committed to our area.
I have a track record of getting results for my community as a Councillor of the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council. I want to continue this in State Parliament. Our region's needs include:
• More investment in regional roads and infrastructure
• Increased funding for regional hospitals
• Better access to health care facilities including mental health
• Action to address the housing shortages in our region
• Better support for small businesses and promotion for tourism businesses in Frome
The two major parties are increasingly city-centric in their focus. They are disinterested in what we need. The Liberal Party is going to spend over $600 million on a city basketball stadium despite critical unmet health needs in our region and countless roads in need of urgent fixes, and the Labor Party has selected a candidate who lives in Adelaide.
When will the major parties stop taking us for granted?
While serving on Council I have advocated for lower rates for residents and small business and contributed to milestones such as the Watervale Community Centre, the revitalisation of the Clare Main Street and much more. I have spoken out about the need for further investment in the Kapunda, Eudunda, Balaklava and Clare Hospitals. Gawler Hospital also services some of our area and needs urgent investment.
If I am elected as the Member for Frome, your vote will not be taken for granted. You will hear from me regularly, not just at election time. I seek your support and ask you to vote 1 Cate Hunter Independent for Frome.
